Executive Body meeting presided by Geelani reviews prevailing Kashmir situation | KNO

Srinagar, May 26 (KNO) : Hurriyat Conference Executive Body (Majlis Shora) Saturday held a meeting at Hyderpora under the chair of its Chairman Syed Ali Geelani and was attended by the heads or the representatives of its constituent parties including Haji Gh Nabi Sumji, Shahid Saleem , Hakim Ab Rashid , Gh Mohammad Nagu, Bashir Ahmad Andrabi, Bilal Sidiqi, Gulshan Abas , Zamroda Habib, Mohd Yusuf Naqash, Molvi Bashir Irfani, Ad Mohd Shafi Reshi, Mohd Shafi Lone ,

Imtiaz Ahmad Shah , Syed Mohd Shafi, Peer Ab Rashid , Mohd Yasin Ataie, Kh Firdous and Gh Ahmad Gulzar. The participants reviewed and discussed the prevailing grim situation in state and it was observed that Indian authorities instead of implementing a realistic and political approach for the resolution of issue, are following their obsessive dogma.

The participants expressed their serious concern about the ill treatment meted out to detainees in Tihar and condemned the continued detention of resistance leaders including Shabir Ahmad Shah, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saif -Ullah, Meraj u Din Kalwal, Naeem Ahmad Khan, Dr Gh Mohammad Bhat, Muzaffar Ahmad Dar, Shahid Yusuf, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Shahid ul Islam, Mohd Aslam Wani and Zahoor Ahmad Watali.

Syed Ali Geelani in his address while stressing all participants to pursue mission with persistence and steadfastness, said that detainees are subjected to extreme vengeance and urged all members to reach to grass root level. Blaming forces for increased waywardness among youth, Syed Ali Geelani said that forces are involved in liquor trade and supply and intoxicating youth and while expressed his serious concern about their mischievous activities, added that forces are scandalously supplying drugs like brown sugar and liquor in nook and corner of state. Forced Occupation is the root cause of all evils, Geelani said and added we need to build our character as per guidelines laid by Islam. Lamenting authorities for denying the political space to leadership.

Geelani said our youth and resistance leaderships is being caged on frivolous charges. He urged the nation to follow the teachings of Quran and Sunnah and while hailing the youth for their passion, commitment and enthusiasm towards freedom, Geelani said that people need to exhibit utmost steadfastness and stand united. “It is the secret of our victory against the oppressors, who are hell-bent on creating confusion by hatching conspiracies, and promoting waywardness” he said. Hailing freedom sentiments of nation, Geelani said,” we pay salute to nation for their high spirits and passion for freedom.

Freedom is our birth right, said Geelani, saying our youth are sacrificing their precious lives for a sacred cause. Geelani asked people to repose faith in Almighty Allah and seek refuge in him. He said doing so will infuse spirit and will power to withstand the “brutalities and hardships” the people face while pursuing the “pious and sacred mission of martyrs”.
